Community Street Audit
People from the local community are asked to get together in one or two (or more) places in the town and, led by Living Streets, evaluate what is good and bad about a local street.

Crucially, pedestrians suggest the solutions.
People's problems, solutions and comments are placed in an audit document and presented to the local authorities.

We think:
The needs of those who travel on foot around our historic town must be given greater priority.
Walking journeys should be the priority in Lewes' transport planning decisions. The historic centre of Lewes was created when walking was the major form of transport and people need to be free to walk safely and securely in the centre of Lewes once more.

We aim to promote walking as the excellent form of healthy exercise that it is and work with all those other bodies which believe that walking needs a higher profile and walkers need a bigger voice.
